Illustration Work 2014-2017

As a teenager, I obsessively transitioned back and forth through manga and Western graphic novel art. Next to graphite, watercolor was the first medium I learned as an effort to be discreet from authority about my interest in art. My very first experiences with watercolor was at the darkest corners of our college library, painting at the back of my history handouts. My style is a merge of East and West, giving importance to silence and weightlessness. I play with decoration and paraphernalia to camouflage each subject's desires, inner thoughts and intimacies.
